Please tell us a bit about yourself
I am a qualified RYA/MCA Ocean Yachtmaster with commercial endorsement. I have been sailing for over 10 years on a range of sailing vessels from production cruising boats to Challenger yachts. With over 22,000NM logged, I have sailed much of the UK, France, Portugal, Spain, Mediterranean and the Caribbean and sailed the Atlantic Ocean five times since 2012.
I was born in Gosport and after a couple of years in the Merchant Navy I joined the Fire and Rescue Service in Hampshire. As a firefighter I moved around the country on promotion and finished my career 31 years later as Chief Fire Officer and Director of Community Safety in Gloucestershire.
