Please tell us a bit about yourself
I have been working for Tall Ships Youth Trust since 2007. I first joined as Reservations Clerk, moving onto the role of Fleet Administration Officer in 2018, and now I am the Voyage Resourcing and Reservations Manager.
Before TSYT, I worked at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and I have a HND in Travel and Tourism Management.
I live in Portsmouth with my husband and two children. When I am not working, I spend time with my family and do my ‘mum’ jobs.
Please tell us a bit about your role at Tall Ships Youth Trust
My current role involves making sure that we have sufficient, suitable and appropriately trained crew on our voyages with the support of our Fleet Readiness and Maintenance Manager.
I also manage the Reservations Team, and am responsible for the budget management of crew costs.
Lastly, I work closely with the Head of Operations to ensure that our voyages operate to the required standards.
What has been your most memorable moment at Tall Ships Youth Trust?
My funniest moment was seeing a colleague talk with a doughnut half in her mouth. In all seriousness the best moment was speaking to Santo’s mum once he won the David Godwin award, to hear how proud she was and how much Tall Ships Youth Trust has changed his life brings a tear to your eye.
What is one thing you think people should know about Tall Ships Youth Trust?
These voyages really do improve young people’s lives and their perception of their life to come.
