WHY TALL SHIPS YOUTH TRUST?
From an early age I have always had a keen interest in sailing and getting out on the water. Having sailed dinghies and bigger boats, I appreciate the many different dynamics that a sailing experience can offer.
The charity’s ethos of offering children from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to go to sea for a few days, really resonates with me. It can be and has been, a life-changing experience for some people. The opportunity to become a trustee was not one to miss.
BACKGROUND
I have spent 30-plus years in investment banking and stock markets and left that world a few years ago to diversify and learn some other skills. I’m an investor, a non- executive director and a mentor. I also find time for personal hobbies and other interests, including learning Spanish.
I’m married with two grown up daughters and live in Sussex. My wife and I are keen sailors and also enjoy skiing, cycling and travelling. I have a RYA Yachtmaster qualification and I’m a member of RORC.
