Please tell us a bit about yourself
I am a family man so most of my spare time is taken up with my four children. When I do get out, I enjoy a bit of fishing, whether it be out on my kayak or simply on the shore. I also enjoy playing pool/snooker and football. I support Manchester United, which has been challenging in recent years but I haven’t changed to a blue shirt just yet…
Please tell us a bit about your role at Tall Ships Youth Trust
I deal with all things finance and IT. This involves processing all financial transactions, taking the accounts through to trial balance level. This includes, amongst other things, paying suppliers, recording voyage receipts, recording donations and reconciliations.
I also look after IT, which can be very challenging at times but rewarding when things work. But as with any IT related query my first question is always “have you turned it off and on again?”
What has been your most memorable moment at Tall Ships Youth Trust?
Probably when I baked a replica Challenger yacht cake to help celebrate our 62nd birthday.
What is one thing you think people should know about Tall Ships Youth Trust?
Tall Ships Youth Trust is all about changing the lives of young people for the better.
Please describe your job in three words
Busy, busy, busy.
If you were famous, what would you be famous for?
Given my name a lot of people would think it would be playing guitar but in the more realistic world it would probably be playing pool or snooker. I have beaten a few of the professional snooker players in the past, granted it was before they were famous.
