Please tell us a bit about yourself
I grew up in the South Devon countryside and moved to Portsmouth 15 years ago to study Biochemistry and Genetics at the university and then never left! I have had a variety of jobs over the years including 10 years working for HM Prison Service in the Finance Department.
I have two young children and really enjoy being out in the fresh air with them. I also enjoy reading, painting and occasionally running. I’ve recently started learning Tai Chi.
Please tell us a bit about your role at Tall Ships Youth Trust
My role is Trusts and Grants Fundraiser and this is actually the second time I have worked for Tall Ships Youth Trust. I had a similar role 10 years ago, but left to have my children. It’s very nice to be back.
I search for and apply to hundreds of trusts, foundations and other organisations to raise bursary funding for young people and provide equipment for the vessels.
What has been your most memorable moment at Tall Ships Youth Trust?
Climbing aloft onboard the Stavros S Niarchos and meeting some of the young people my fundraising helps.
What is one thing you think people should know about Tall Ships Youth Trust?
It’s NOT a holiday!!!!
Please describe your job in three words
Engaging. Busy. Worthwhile.
If you were famous, what would you be famous for?
I can’t imagine anything worse than being famous!!
