  • Work towards RYA start yachting qualification
  • Build sailing knowledge, make friends and have fun!

Join us for the final leg of our relay-style voyage around the UK sailing from London to Portsmouth.

Your voyage will begin with meet and greet followed by a safety briefing before heading out onto the water. The first day will be spent learning basic sailing techniques before starting your voyage down the east coast.

You will be involved with all aspects of sailing the yacht from steering and setting the sails to cooking and cleaning. You will get to experience really exciting offshore sailing, participating in a watch system and get a real taste for what it is like to do an ocean crossing.

You will spend the first day sailing out of the Thames, passing iconic landmarks on the way. You will then sail south out of the North Sea and into the English Channel. You will pass the famous White Cliffs of Dover and might stop off in Eastbourne making your way along the South coast before entering the Solent and finishing the voyage in Portsmouth.

If you’re not at sea most evenings will be spent covering theory, relaxing and socialising or you may have the chance to go ashore. By the end of the voyage you will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, ropework and be aware of safety on board.

During this voyage you will have the opportunity to complete your RYA Start Yachting qualification as well as the residential section of your Gold DofE.

Passport – Where passport required is indicated, the voyage will start and/or finish abroad or a UK based voyage will aim to visit abroad.

DofE – All of our voyages of 4 nights or more qualify for the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Residential section. Please let our Reservations Team know before sailing if you want to use to use the voyage for the residential section.
