  • Experience challenging offshore sailing
  • Experience watch systems
  • Learn basic sailing techniques
  • Build sailing knowledge, make friends and have fun!

Experience the challenge of offshore sailing on one of our ocean-going yachts on this Northern France Adventure.

Day 1 will include meet and greet and a safety briefing before heading out into the Solent. You will be put into watch systems to begin to learn basic sailing techniques and experience man over board practice.

Once you set the sails to Isle of Wight and you crossed the English Channel, you will enjoy the beautiful Channel Islands and explore the French coast with its rugged coastal scenery. On the way, you might stop in Le Harve, Dieppe, Le Tréport or Boulogne-sur-Mer.

Whilst every effort will be made to deliver the above voyage content sometimes, due to weather and crew’s ability, some of the highlights described above may need to change.

Over the following days you will build your sailing knowledge whilst having fun and making friends. You will be involved with all aspects of sailing the yacht from looking after the boat to cooking and cleaning. You will extend your sailing knowledge by experiencing watch systems and night sailing.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain an understanding of what it feels like to go offshore in one of our iconic Challenger yachts.

There is a possibility you could be recommended to the Trust by the Skipper to come back and volunteer as a Watch Assistant or Watch Leader for future Tall Ships voyages.

Passport – Where passport required is indicated, the voyage will start and/or finish abroad or a UK based voyage will aim to visit abroad.
