Day One

Cowes to Weymouth – after refuelling

After refuelling at Cowes, we headed for Weymouth. The heeling boat and the sea proved too much for a couple of people, causing them to enjoy their cereal more than once. After a rocky start a slightly smaller crew enjoyed a lunch of pasties and beans. This was once again spattered across the deck. The remaining crew was greeted by a view of Weymouth beach and the fair as we moored against challenger wales who had terrible music.

Day Two

Weymouth to somewhere off the coast of the south west.

After sometime in Weymouth buying food we set sail for the Scillies (after dosing up on stugeron). After starting watches at 1pm dolphins where spotted by starboard watch. There were lots of shooting stars during the night watch. At about 11pm dolphins where once again seen swimming beside the boat.

Today we started our overnight sail, we sailed all day and night and started our group shift which altered every 4 hours, this gave us plenty of time to prepare for staying awake all night on our shift, due to having no land insight we had to rely on our technology to determine the coordinates and use our navigational sailing skills to guide our way to the Scilly isles.

On our night shift we experienced the most amazing view of hundreds of stars around our heads, we spotted 2- 3 shooting stars above. And at one point some dolphins joined us and swam around us, diving around the boat.

Day Three

After sailing through the night we arrive in the Scilly isles at 5pm after a long rough sail, we packed up and when ashore via the dingy. We arrived at the small island and explored the grassy hills and the rocky surroundings, the path ways took us around its beautiful sea line. We got to see the fishermen coming in after a day of work in the amazing crystal clear water. The amazing community was very welcoming and peaceful, which perfectly suited the surroundings.

We arrived back at the boat to enjoy a very tasteful supper (sweet and sour chicken on noodles), this was very warming and looked great. After that we enjoyed a great and peaceful night (well needed) after playing a game of Uno and spoons, this was very funny and enjoyable to play with the group.
