On the first day of our voyage we unpacked and got settled in. We were nervous at first but also excited to get out on the water. We went through safety training and had a practice with the sails. We docked in Cowes and cooked some dinner. Then, we played some exciting games before getting ready for bed and falling into a peaceful slumber.

We woke up and had breakfast in the saloon then prepared the deck for the departure. We hoisted the Yankee 3 and left pretty quickly. We sailed out of the harbour and had a full day of hoisting the Mainsail and practicing tacking. We also worked the winches quite a lot. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get to Yarmouth due to the weather conditions so we sailed back to Cowes and did our man overboard drill. We docked, had a look around Cowes and did some baking too. We went to bed shortly after that.
