Ken Stimpson Academy join us for a 4-night voyage. Thanks to Cross Keys Homes for supporting this journey.

Day 1

Monday, 16 September

Dear Blog, today I found my experience on the challenger 3 quite extraordinary.

We got to learn how to tie knots, put up a sail and put the boat in the Habor. It was very challenging at some points like coiling the rope and walking around on deck as the boat swayed causing a little imbalance. The wind and atmosphere was one to not forget as it was breathe taking and very therapeutic. We are looking forward for the upcoming days for more unforgettable experiences and life lessons. Day 2

Tuesday, 17 September

Dear blog today we learn how to do a MOB ( man over board )

And we learn how to tie an oxo knot, a clove hitch knot and a round turn and two half hitches. Some of us felt a bit sick and there was a swell in the  water. One of the waves hit the boat and I spilt beans everywhere. When we were leaving Cowes we learnt how to detach the boat from the ponton. We took down the sails and packed them away and we also put them up in the morning. After we put them away we went to the beach and we were looking for crabs.

Day 4

Thursday, 19 September

Today we started with bacon sandwiches for breakfast then we went onto the deck and some people climbed the mast and I was very surprised that I got to the top I didn’t think I would be able to. We also tacked the sails and we also practiced man over board and then we got out the dingey out and paddled with the paddles then we got back onto the boat and had dinner then we played the banana game together and then we had some sweets and then we are going to go to sleep and walk up and have a lot of fun in the morning.
