Ketch
The ketch was gifted by Bolton School. This 55ft vessel provides the perfect sail training environment for young people and adults alike.
There are comfy bunks in two sleeping areas that are cosy and functional.
There is a kitchen (aka galley) complete with fridges, hobs and an oven.
The ketch will take up to 12 crew members:
You will always have a Skipper and Mate onboard but you may not have a Watch Leader or a Youth Mentor, depending on the type of voyage.
The Ketch is very safe and perfect for sail training.
It’s Category 2 certified by the Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA), which means she has the safety features, equipment and capability to be sailed up to 60 miles from a safe haven.
All voyage crew undergo thorough safety training and vessel familiarisation before setting sail. Lifejackets with integral harnesses and good quality waterproofs are provided.
Codes of conduct are in place and our sailing staff ensure a positive, supportive and encouraging atmosphere is maintained throughout the voyage.
