I’m 56 years old, I’ve always lived in Portsmouth and have been at Tall Ships for 9 years. I’ve been married for 30 years and have two grown-up sons and two lovely granddaughters.

I love spending time with the family and always enjoyed playing and watching sports, particularly football & tennis but nowadays I am a very keen golfer.

I love playing backgammon & chess (but don’t tell anyone!)
I am in the Freemasons with Chas (but don’t tell anyone!)

Please tell us a bit about your role at Tall Ships

My role is the Finance Director – Report to CEO (Richard).

It is a very busy department, of just me & Gary, with constant deadlines to meet.

I am responsible for Financial Accounting & Annual Reports, Regulatory Compliance & Reporting, Management/financial information, including Budgeting & forecasting, Cash and cashflow management.

What has been your most memorable moment at Tall Ships?

There have been so many! But probably, after nine years, going out on a day sail with the staff and getting to know them better.

What is one thing you think people should know about Tall Ships?

All the staff are totally dedicated to providing the best experience possible for young people. That’s really true.

Please describe your job in 3 words

Challenging. Frenetic. Rewarding.

If you were famous, what would you be famous for?

Maybe could have been a footballer but they said I wasn’t tall enough though! Can you believe that?
