Tall Ships Cat

A very generous benefactor has donated a 19 metre catamaran to the Trust. The new vessel will enable the Trust to develop its youth work with new groups of young people currently not catered for by its existing fleet - Stavros S Niarchos, a 60 metre Brig and the Challenger Fleet, four 22 metre ocean going yachts.

The catamaran was delivered to Portsmouth at the beginning of October 2009 from Greece and is now been converted so that it will be suitable for the Trust’s sail training needs. She will come into service in the spring of 2010.

The Tall Ships Cat will enable us to extend our work with young people, particularly those with special needs, and will also be used to provide sail training for younger people aged 12 and 13 – lowering our entry age by two years.

She has been very well maintained and has a comfortable saloon area and cabins. On deck there is plenty of room to move around and being a catamaran is very stable under sail.
